Cookies
Ruby Prism does not use cookies of any kind. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no functional cookies, no third-party cookies. If you are reading this page because a cookie banner sent you here, you can close it. There are no cookies to accept or decline.
Local storage
The game uses browser sessionStorage to store a single value: your session token. This token is a random string that identifies you to the server so your best score and player name persist between page refreshes. It is deleted when you close your browser tab. No other data is stored locally.
Personal data we process
The only personal data we process is the name you choose to enter when playing the game. This name appears on the public leaderboard alongside your score. We do not process email addresses, IP addresses for profiling, browsing behavior, device identifiers, or any other personal data defined under the GDPR.
Legal basis for processing
We process your chosen name and game scores on the basis of legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). The purpose is to operate the leaderboard, which is a core feature of the game. You provide your name voluntarily and may choose any name you wish.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the European Union, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right of access. You may request a copy of the data we hold about you. Contact us through the contact form with the name you used when playing.
Right to rectification. If your name on the leaderboard is incorrect or you wish to change it, start a new game with a different name. Your old record can be removed on request.
Right to erasure. You may request that we delete all data associated with your player name. We will remove your record within 7 days of receiving the request.
Right to restriction. You may ask us to stop processing your data. This is achieved by simply not playing the game or by clearing your browser session storage.
Right to data portability. Your game data is minimal (name, score, rank). If you want a copy, contact us and we will provide it.
How to opt out
To stop all data collection, do not enter your name on the game page. To remove existing data, clear your browser session storage and contact us to have your leaderboard record deleted. There is no tracking to opt out of beyond this.
Data retention
Player records are retained indefinitely as part of the historical leaderboard unless you request deletion. Game records (individual game scores) are retained as long as the corresponding player record exists.
Third parties
No personal data is shared with any third party. The game is hosted on a single server with a local SQLite database. No analytics services, no advertising networks, no cloud storage providers have access to your data.
Supervisory authority
If you believe your rights under the GDPR have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. We would appreciate the opportunity to resolve any concerns directly first through our contact form.
